Have You Heard?
There's a design and advertising studio in the mountains, 3+ hours from Seattle, and we’re looking for a design-intern and/or a junior designer.
For the right person, this is a game changer.
Visualize yourself living in a forest and working for a global creative agency — where clients arrive on helicopters and meetings happen in places like this:
So, why the hell would a marketing company open an office way out there? It's the same reason the world's most notorious organizations can be found on tropical islands that nobody has ever heard of. It's why writers build secluded beach houses somewhere in Nova Scotia. There's something to be said for perspective.
EVRYBDY offers our clients a unique point of view. We wait for animals to cross the road on our way to work in the morning. We live in one of the few places on Earth where the Milky Way is clearly defined on any given night. We shovel snow 6 months of the year and jump in cold mountain water to beat the 100º days of summer. We watch golden eagles watching coyotes, watching us. But amidst it all, we still get the Linkedin updates, Fast Company articles and celebrity news delivered as its happening, like in real life. But keep in mind, we're only a short drive (and a very short helicopter ride) from Seattle, our urban studio, sushi, skateparks and Peter Miller Books.
Expect to design websites one day and a trade show booth the next. You'll build brands. You'll design logos, packaging, clothing, retail environments, product graphics, apps and more. You probably haven't done most of those things, but don't worry, you'll be in a fun environment where you can learn and collaborate. Prepare to sketch, share your ideas and teach us a thing or two as well. We do have a few important pre-requisites for the opening. One is typography. All portfolios will be held to a fairly ridiculous typographic standard. The written word is one thing that can't be compromised. We also require a certain proficiency in the standard Adobe tools because rolling up our sleeves and doing the dirty work is important too.
You'll find this opportunity very appealing if you enjoy world-class mountain biking, rock climbing, hiking, fly fishing, baked goods and children frolicking around town with ice cream on their faces and dirt on their knees.
We hope to hear from you.
** Extra special consideration given to applicants with a pilot's license and/or owns a helicopter.
What's the best way to Apply?
Please start by sending your online portfolio (using the form on this page). We'll reply back and request that you MAIL us a hard copy of your resume, cover letter and anything else you want us to hold in our hands.
Is the intern position paid?
Yes. This is an hourly position. Amount will depend on experience.
How long will this position last?
That's unknown. It can be 3-6 months (or longer). Let's see how it goes. We're small but growing.
Can I work off-site?
Not really. You have to live in the mountains for the summer at least. It's part of the experience.
What about housing?
Good question. We'll help you with this part. It's the Methow Valley – where people come to build their vacation dream homes. Something awesome will happen.
Are there health benefits?
No. These positions will be treated as if you were hired as a sub-contractor for at least 2-6 months.
